I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years' experience counseling individuals of all age ranges. Throughout my career as a social worker, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, residential addiction treatment centers and crisis stabilization with children/families; public, private and voluntary sectors. I also worked abroad (UK) for 2 years where I gained meaningful experience working with a variety of cultures and, at one point in my career, worked as an Adjunct Professor at VCU assisting social work graduate students when translating theory into practice.
I am Bilingual (English/Spanish) and, as such, recognize the importance of being culturally aware. I currently live in Florida with my husband and our dog Charlie Blue. I enjoy painting, listening to music and going on walks.
I have always been drawn to humanistic models of therapy that focus on a collaborative relationship based on real interactions, and unconditional positive regard. I believe that my relationships with clients can be healing, and that effective interventions start with a genuine human connection.
I look forward to hearing from you!
